Lighting at the Palafrugell Municipal Library – Girona
In the heart of Palafrugell (Girona), the Municipal Library has been renovated with new lighting installed by ROBLAN, which combines design, efficiency, and versatility. With a total area of 300 m², this project has modernized a key space for the community, enhancing the reading, study, and exhibition experience through dimmable and magnetic LED lighting solutions.
Project Description
The lighting design for the Palafrugell Library focused on two main areas: the exhibition hall and the general reading and study areas.
In the exhibition hall, the TKM dimmable magnetic lighting system was installed—a versatile solution that allows for customizing the light distribution according to current needs. This system consists of various light fixtures that attach magnetically to the rails, enabling a quick, clean, and tool-free installation, with the ability to move or reconfigure the light modules even while the power is on.
Thanks to its low voltage and flexibility, the TKM system is well-suited for dynamic environments such as galleries, museums, or cultural spaces, allowing for the precise highlighting of artworks, informational panels, or specific areas.
For the library’s general lighting, the LCT1500CCT fixtures were chosen—a modern, ultra-slim model equipped with an integrated driver and a high-thermal-dissipation housing that guarantees a minimum service life of 50,000 hours (L80B10). Its CCT technology allows the color temperature to be adjusted based on the time of day or the activity taking place, creating warmer or more neutral atmospheres depending on the space’s needs.
Both solutions have significantly improved the building’s energy efficiency, reducing electricity consumption and providing lighting that is fully adaptable and comfortable for users.
