ROBLAN participated in the lighting project for the Temporary Library at the As Pontes Market, a 530 m² space designed to provide a comfortable, functional, and well-lit environment for reading and studying while temporarily serving users.
Project Description
The project was based on a clear premise: to make the most of the existing installation in order to optimize resources and ensure efficiency. To this end, the original lighting—which consisted of sealed tube fixtures—was retained and supplemented with new solutions that significantly improve visual comfort and light uniformity throughout the space.
In the main areas, recessed LED ceiling panels were installed, providing uniform general lighting—ideal for libraries and reading areas. In more specific areas, where the architecture or intended use required it, surface-mounted fixtures were chosen, allowing for precise adaptation to the space’s needs without compromising aesthetics or functionality.
The combination of the existing lighting with new ROBLAN fixtures has created a balanced, efficient environment that is well-suited for the library’s ongoing use, ensuring proper light levels and visual comfort for users.
